RECIPIENT OF THE UNITED WAY OF GREATER ATLANTA'S DARE TO FORGET THE BOX! PRIZE
Premier Academy is proud to announce its recent award of the Dare to Forget the Box! Prize from the United Way. We are one of four awardees selected from an applicant pool of 67 innovative and creative collaboratives across the metro area. This 3-year grant will support the delivery of school-based mental health services for children enrolled at Premier Academy, former Premier Academy students who are enrolled at Heritage Academy, training for their parents and professional development for our teachers. Through a collaboration with Heartwork Counseling Center, Wholistic Stress Control Institute, Mental Health America of Georgia, The Albireo Group, and Heritage Academy, we will ensure that children will receive individualized mental health services at no-cost and that parents become informed and strong advocates for their children as they navigate the public school system. Let's celebrate this wonderful accomplishment!

Premier Academy's contract to provide drop-in childcare services at Fulton County's Oak Hill Child, Adolescent & Family Center has been renewed for another year. Children who visit the newly designed 48,000 sq.ft facility with their parents will continue to receive a unique and stimulating experience with our highly trained staff in a state-of-the-art classroom. We are excited about this ongoing opportunity to ensure all of Atlanta's children are prepared for kindergarten.

PREMIER IS GOING GREEN! AN IMPLEMENTATION GRANT HAS BEEN AWARDED!
We have received an Assessment grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta through the Grants to Green program that identified 13 meaningful ways we can improve the overall energy and water efficiency of our Angier Avenue center. With evaluators from Southface and our Green Champion, Tom Butler of LAS Architects, we have closely examined opportunities to make changes to our existing systems that will save us 38% in electricity, 28% in gas, and 42% in water expenses each year. Premier Academy will implement 13 critical improvementsat our Angier Ave. center in the next year to include high efficiency toilets and water fixtures, high performing lighting and controls, and energy star appliances. As we enter the implementation phase of this unique opportunity to incorporate enduring, sustainable practices, we thank the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta for their long-standing dedication to this initiative. More news to follow in the coming months!
